Underworld: Evolution

This movie was… good. A worthy sequel to a pretty good movie, not as good as the original but a successful continuation of the original story.

Picking up almost immediately where the last film left off, the movie continues the battle between the werewolves and vampires to what appears to be its conclusion.

The story had some small inconsistencies, but otherwise worked well.

Selene, a vampire Death Dealer, and Michael, the vampire/werewolf hybrid are on the run from the re-awakened Marcus until they have their final showdown between Marcus, the first vampire and William, the first werewolf. I wonder who will win.

Along the way, of course, they fall in love, as is necessary in this type of movie and have the requisite vampire/hybrid love scene, that is all to common in the movies today. Oh, and try to find the scene where Kate Beckinsale’s behind isn’t focused on at some point. It doesn’t exist.

And while I wish there was a little bit more, there were some nice bloody action scenes with pretty nice special effects. Marcus in particular was very nicely done.

So, go see and enjoy. Werewolves and vampires are hard to come by in the movies now a days.
