Inside Man

Movies like this are made to be enjoyed by everyone. Two well-known likeable leads in Denzel and Jodie Foster, and an up and coming star in Clive Owen, throw in a few explosions and some action and you at the very least are going to have a well acted thriller.

And that’s exactly what you get. But I couldn’t help thinking I wanted more. There was a connection between the villain and his victim that wasn’t there for me. Why him and why him.

I understand and see why it was such a brilliant bank robbery, but why did this man want to rob this man? I wanted more of a history between the two men.

Nevertheless this will probably end up being Spike Lee’s biggest (monetarily) film yet. Not his best, for me that would probably be Jungle Fever, but definitely worth seeing.
